The Shame of Faroe Islands

The Shame Of Faroe Islands

The people of Faroe Islands should hang their heads low in shame. The sea is stained red and it’s not because of the climate effects of nature.

It's because of the cruelty of supposedly civilized human beings, who kill hundreds of the famous and intelligent Pilot Dolphins. What's even worse is that this public display of complete lunacy is an annual ritual.  In this slaughter the main participants are young teens. But WHY does it happen?
This post has received a LOT of attention, praise for raising it and criticism over factually incorrect information - which has been noted and updated.  Some of this information claims that this public display is for food only, that these beautiful creatures suffer no pain, they are killed humanely (if such a thing exists) and less than 0.1% of them are killed annually.  If this was an ongoing, standard practice just for to provide food for the people, why on earth does it draw crowds of hundreds if not thousands? How many of us go down to our local abbatoir to watch the cattle we will eat be slaughtered? Simple - this murder is actually a celebration, to show the community that these teens have now 'matured' and entered the realm of manhood (if you ask me they've entered the realm of lunacy).  It is sick and barbaric and obviously praised by a twisted culture who see it as a spectacle.

In this big 'celebration', in one way or another, everyone is participating and complicit in this highly barbaric, cruel, inhumane and psychopathic display by either maming the innocent, beautiful creatures themselves or merely by standing around, observing and supporting without so much as protesting or attempting to put a stop to it.

Is it necessary to mention that the Pilot Dolphins (sometimes erroneously called Calderon Dolphins) like all the other species of dolphins are nearing extinction, are precious and must be protected.  Due to the gentle nature of these dolphins, they're naturally playful and inquisitive and often approach humans in order to interact and play as a sign of friendship.

What's even worse is that they do not die instantly, contrary to criticism recieved that they are killed humanely.  The words KILL and HUMANE are oxymorons and do not belong together in one sentence, for the mere act of taking a life, any life can not possibly be classified as "humane". They are beaten, cut and gouged 1, 2 or 3 times with thick hooks and at that time the dolphins produce a grim cry.  Again, contrary to criticism, these pictures do not lie.

These images show just how barbaric and cruel the human race can be, whilst these amazing creatures suffer, without any care or compassion, dying in a pool of its own blood.

This is disgusting, it makes me sick, it makes me angry, VERY angry.  If reading or seeing this made any kind of impact on you at all, then please sharethis to as many people as you know, do not fear shame and ridicule because it's only those taking part and witnessing this horrendous slaughter which should be shamed by everyone around the world.  Everyone needs to see this and the more it is shared, eventually it will reach the right people, the people who are also disgusted by it and put a stop to it!

New information received:  The Faroe Islands essentially have their own government and is not ruled by the Danish government. It has been this way since the year of 1948. In fact, they have their very own ministry of fishing. The head of this ministry is two gentlemen by the names of Jákup Mikkelsen and Jacob Vestergaard. Here's the e-mail adress to get in contact with them: fisk@fisk.fo

If this affected you it means you care... and if you care it means there's still hope for humanity. Follow us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/thetimetowakeup). Peace to you all.
